Terms & Conditions
Last updated 1 April 2026
Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the BookMIAM website (bookmiam.co.uk) and the family mediation services we provide. By using our website or booking a service, you agree to be bound by these terms.
About Our Services
BookMIAM provides Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAMs) and family mediation services online across England and Wales. Our services include:
- MIAMs for child arrangement applications (C100).
- MIAMs for financial order applications (Form A).
- Family mediation sessions for child arrangements, financial settlements, and other family disputes.
Booking and Payment
- All bookings are subject to availability.
- Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
- Our current pricing is displayed on our website. Prices may change from time to time, but changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.
Cancellation and Refunds
- If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give us at least 48 hours’ notice.
- Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may not be eligible for a refund.
- If we need to cancel an appointment, we will offer you an alternative date or a full refund.
Confidentiality
All information shared during a MIAM or mediation session is confidential and cannot be used in court proceedings. The only exceptions are:
- Where there is a risk of harm to a child or vulnerable adult.
- Where there is a risk of serious criminal activity.
- Where disclosure is required by law.
The mediator will explain the limits of confidentiality at the start of every MIAM and mediation session.
The Mediator’s Role
The mediator is impartial — they do not take sides and do not provide legal advice. The mediator’s role is to help both parties communicate and explore options for reaching an agreement. We strongly recommend that both parties seek independent legal advice alongside the mediation process.
Your Responsibilities
By using our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information.
- Attend appointments on time.
- Treat the mediator and all other parties with respect.
- Not record any MIAM or mediation session without the written consent of all parties and the mediator.
MIAM Certificates
Following your MIAM, we will provide a signed certificate for your court application (C100 or Form A) where appropriate. MIAM certificates are valid for four months from the date of the meeting.
Limitation of Liability
BookMIAM provides mediation and MIAM services in good faith. We do not guarantee any particular outcome from mediation. We are not liable for any decisions made by you or the other party as a result of mediation, nor for any loss or damage arising from the use of our website or services, except where caused by our negligence.
