How Booking Your MIAM Works

A MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting) is the legally required first step before applying to family court in England and Wales. Booking one with BookMIAM takes minutes:

  1. Pick a slot — choose a date and time, including evenings and weekends.
  2. Join the video call — you receive a secure link by email, no software to install.
  3. Attend individually — the MIAM is a one-to-one meeting; your ex-partner is never on the same call.
  4. Receive your certificate — your signed form is emailed within 1 to 2 working days.

What's Included in the £125 Fee

Your MIAM is conducted by Abdul Wahid, an FMA-trained, FMC-registered family mediator with over 10 years of experience. The fixed £125 covers a 45 to 60 minute one-to-one meeting where your mediator explains how mediation works, checks whether it is suitable for your situation, and answers your questions. If you decide to apply to court instead, your certificate is signed by a fully accredited FMC mediator working with our practice.
