Your mediator is Abdul Wahid, an FMA trained and FMC registered family mediator with over 10 years of experience in family and business mediation. All sessions are held online by video call, so you never need to travel to a mediation office in Birmingham.

Registration with the Family Mediation Council matters: only an FMC registered mediator can sign the court forms that let you make a family court application in England and Wales.

How Online Family Mediation Works for People in Birmingham

There is no mediation office to travel to, no time off work, and no waiting room shared with your ex-partner.

1. Attend a MIAM: you and your ex-partner each attend a separate first meeting by video call.
2. Agree to mediate: if you both want to proceed, we book your first joint session.
3. Work through the issues: most families need between one and four sessions.
4. Record what you agreed: you receive a written summary that solicitors can turn into a legally binding order.

If you do not want to be in the same video call as your ex-partner, we can hold the session by shuttle mediation, where the mediator moves between two separate calls.

Do I Need a MIAM First?
